Yesterday I participated in the Pro-Health Care Riverwalk for Breast Cancer as part of the Messmer Team. Myself and over 25 students and staff from Messmer traveled to Waukesha to walk 2 miles through Frame Park. I was so proud to see that so many high school students would be committed to this very worthy cause. The ways in which breast cancer has touched our lives was very evident, from the high school teacher who very recently lost her mother to the disease to my own sister Rita, who is a survivor of stage IV breast cancer. We raised over $1,000 as a team and over $206,000 from all the walk participants.
Recently, the students at St. Rose and St. Leo, part of the Messmer Catholic Schools system, had a chance to show off their artistic talents through an Art Show. Ms. Selzer, the art teacher really does awesome work with the students and special thanks to Ms. Suckow who put this little video together. Enjoy.

Given all the controversy right now over public employees, especially teachers, I thought it would be good to share this video. Teaching, in my opinion is the most noble of all professions that a person can choose. This one is for all my sisters, friends and colleagues who work tirelessly every single day. Thank you for all you are and do.
